Anantapur, February 6
The bastion of Telugu Desam Party (TDP), Hindupur assembly constituency in Anantapur district is boiling with internal disputes between party leaders.
Senior leaders and party cadre are going up in arms against Balakrishna’s personal secretary Sekhar Naidu, who has been ruling the roost in the constituency.
Former MLA Venkataramudu and senior party leader Ambika Lakshminarayana are angry with Sekhar due to his dictatorial attitude.
In this situation, senior leaders are holding meetings to discuss the increasing corrupt activities of Sekhar and his dictatorial functioning. They decided to take the issue to the party high command.
But Balakrishna is not responding over this issue. Former MLA Venkataramudu threatened to launch hunger strike if Balayya fails to take any action against his PA.
Since beginning the Hindupur is a bastion of the TDP. Not only late leader NT Rama Rao and his family members, but any party leader will definitely win in this constituency.
The local leaders were happy after Balakrishna’s victory. But his assistant Sekhar is creating troubles. Sekhar is allegedly behaving like a high command and the leaders criticized that Balakrishna is keeping silence even after knowing his PA’s attitude.
The problem reached its peak with leaders determined that either they should remain in the party or Sekhar. All are anxiously waiting for Balakrishna’s reaction whether he heeds to the party leaders or to his PA.
Balakrishna was not at all bothered when a few mandal-level leaders left the party earlier. With the same situation repeating again, the party leaders are considering to take the issue to CM Chandrababu Naidu.
