‘The population of AP capital city Amaravathi will grow from the present four lakh to seven lakh in the next 10 years. There is a need to set up schools that will teach national and international schools syllabus in the next five years,’ Request For Proposal (RFP) stated.
RFP released a statement aiming to set up primary and upper primary schools with high standards. As per this, tenders were called for setting up one international boarding school, one international day-school, one national boarding school, three national day-schools.
16 bids were filed and eight companies participated in the bid. The Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) is checking the bids and will select the companies soon.
Vijay Nirman Company filed bid for international boarding school and PHR Invent Educational Society and Global Schools Holdings Limited filed tenders for international day-school.
Futuristic Educational Society, SRM Trust and Nalanda Academy of Science and Technical Educational Institution filed tenders for national boarding school; while SRM Trust, Mahatma Educational Society, Nalanda Academy of Science and Technical Education and Podar Education Trust filed bids for opening national day-scholar schools.
CRDA proposed to open national day-schools in 8,000 square meters area; national boarding schools in 16,000 sq. mt; international day-schools in 16,000 sq. mt; and international schools in 32,000 sq. mt area. The government felt these standards are compulsory to attract foreign investments. The government already allotted land for setting up of VIT, SRM and other private universities in the State.
