Vijayawada, January 9
Expecting heavy rush during Sankranti festival, APSRTC is plying 2,510 special buses till January 13.
All the people living in cities on job, education, business and other purposes are now going to their native places for the festival. The AP government is trying to cash in the chance by running more buses in the season.

Meanwhile the private bus operators have already doubled up the charges, with RTC following close behind. The bus charges were increased 50 per cent compared to the charges on normal days.
The special services would run from Hyderabad, Vizag, Chennai, Bengaluru and other metropolitan cities also and more than 5,000 buses are kept ready for the purpose. The AP government targeted to earn Rs 13 crore revenue through special buses during Sankranti festival season.
Daily about 650 buses will run from Hyderabad to various places in Andhra Pradesh State. Now, the APSRTC will run 1,100 special buses on January 11 and 12, estimating about 70,000 people will travel on these days.
Expecting rush on January 13, 14 and 15, a total of 2,500 buses will be plied including these three days. The officials said another 2,500 buses would run for those who return to cities.
