Vijayawada, January 6
Andhra Pradesh government has started measures to get land through land acquisition act from farmers, who did not give their lands for AP capital city construction.
The District Collector issued notifications to four villages in this regard. Notifications would be issued to the remaining villages also in phases.
The AP government has collected 34,000 acres in 29 villages through land acquisition for capital city. The farmers have not surrendered another 4,130 acres due to various reasons. Now the government is planning to take this land.
As part of the plan, notification was issued two months ago to Nelapadu village. Now notification was issued to Ainavolu, Abbarajupalem, Borupalem villages in Tullur mandal and Krishnayapalem in Mangalagiri mandal.
Though more than 4,000 acres has to be collected, district administration has given notification for 2,500 acres only due to court disputes and other reasons. Objections will be accepted for about 60 days from the four villages to which notification was issued and the officials are fixed to complete the land acquisition process within 180 days.
The officials said that they have collected lands through land acquisition near the capital city and a few farmers did not give up their lands due to various reasons. They have to acquire small area in each village and hence issuing notification in phase wise.
Notification will be issued to another four villages in two days and later to other villages. The land acquisition process will commence as soon as the officials get rehabilitation commissioner’s permission.
