Anantapuram, February 8

YSR Congress Party chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy lashed out at the TDP government during a dharna at Uravakonda of Anantapuram district. YSRCP leaders demanded irrigation water supply to Handri Neeva ayacut farmers.

Jagan criticized that AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is boasting of constructing Handri-Neeva project. But 90 per cent works of the project was completed during the tenure of late Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy.

Chandrababu, during his nine-year rule as the AP CM, laid foundation stone two times for the project and allotted Rs 24 crore only. Jagan pointed out that the 40 TMC project was reduced to 5.5 tmc.

Jagan predicted that he will come to power within two years and vowed to complete the project.

The YSRCP chief alleged that the State government is mortgaging State interests at the Centre and accused Naidu of being friendly with contractors and fighting with farmers.

On the other hand, TDP ministers and leaders held a face-to-face meeting with farmers at Gollapalli reservoir. Ministers Palle Raghunatha Reddy and Paritala Sunitha, MLAs and MLCs visited Gollapalem reservoir in Penugonda mandal.

They said that Chandrababu Naidu is trying to transform Anantapuram as drought-free district. They criticized YS Jagan that he is unable to see the development works in the State and staging dharnas, rasta rokos.
