According to the Met department the Nada cyclone is going to affect Tamil Nadu and South coastal Andhra. Tamil Nadu coastal areas may receive heavy rains in the next 24 hours and may witness squally winds with the speed of 45 to 50 kmph.
It is presently centered at 710 km east-southwest in Chennai and moving fast. The cyclone is likely to cross the coast at Cuddalor on Friday. First cyclone warning was issued at Nagapatnam, Cuddalor and Karaikal ports. Two-day holidays were declared for schools in five districts in Tamil Nadu. Nellore district coastline may be affected by Nada cyclone as far as AP is concerned.
