Lucknow, January 7
SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav’s brother Shivpal Singh Yadav held discussions with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and Mulayam’s son Akhilesh Yadav at his residence on Friday. At the same time senior party leader Amar Singh met Mulayam. Discussions between Mulayam and Akhilesh groups are still going on.
It was known that Akhilesh, Amar Singh and Shivpal Yadav met in Mulayam’s house on Thursday night also. Amar Singh reminded about his help to Akhilesh and the party. But Akhilesh clearly stated that there will be no compromise unless Amar Singh is sidelined.
The meetings of two groups are raising interest among the public as Akhilesh and Shivpal groups are resorting to agitations. The recent developments indicate the internal disputes in the party are further hardened.
Akhilesh Yadav is slowly tightening his grip in the fight for power. As per the news story, Akhilesh gave a shock to his father by requesting banks to freeze the bank accounts of Samajwadi party. The banks are said to have frozen the party accounts.
Shivpal Yadav used to manage the bank account transactions, which has RS 500 crore as per estimations. Not even a single rupee could be withdrawn without his signature. But the recent development made it impossible for Shivpal to withdraw money.
Akhilesh earlier declared that his party is the official one by declaring his strength. According to sources, if SP succeeds in making alliance with Congress, AICC president Sonia Gandhi’s daughter Priyanka Gandhi will organize rallies and meetings in Uttar Pradesh supporting Congress and SP.
Akhilesh and AICC vice-president Rahul Gandhi will meet on January 9 to discuss on poll alliance.
