Lucknow, January 23

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav showered boons on his State people. He released party manifesto on Sunday, after making an alliance with Congress.

The manifesto announced free distribution of smart phones worth Rs 1.40 crore under ‘Samajwadi Smart Phone Yojana’; cookers to poor women; Rs 1,000 pension to them; financial assistance to farmers; metro rail construction in Kanpur and Agra, more airports in the State; expansion of mid-day meals scheme; imparting quality education in government schools; all roads to be developed as four-lane; litre ghee and kg milk powder to each student of government school and others.

Akhilesh said the credit of providing laptop in each village goes to his party only. He criticized BJP couldn’t get good days.

Akhilesh’s wife Dimple attended the manifesto releasing programme, but Mulayam Singh Yadav and Sivpal Yadav gave a miss.

Akhilesh Yadav to get power again has joined hands with Congress. Compromise on seats distribution came only after Congress high command’s intervention. After speaking with Sonia Gandhi, Akhilesh agreed to allot six seats in addition to 99 seats which were offered earlier.

Samajwadi party agreed to give 105 seats to the Congress in the coming Assembly elections. It announced to field its candidates in 298 seats.

Party representatives said, they have objections about the seats demanded by the Congress. Their party is strong in some of the seats demanded by the Congress and they will take a decision after holding discussions.
