Chennai, February 8.
Tamil Nadu politics is becoming interesting with more and more twists with every hour. V Sasikala’s swearing-in ceremony postponement, Governor Vidyasagar Rao seeking legal experts’ suggestions on Sasikala’s eligibility to become the CM, veteran AIADMK leader PH Pandian raising suspicion over Jayalalithaa’s death, Jayalalithaa’s niece Deepa spewing fire on Sasikala and now Panneerselvam gave a shocking statement that he was forced to resign from his post is creating ripples.
On Tuesday evening, Pannerselvam went to Jayalalithaa’s memorial at Marina Beach and sat meditating for about half-an-hour, though it was not in his schedule.
Later when the media reached the spot, the caretaker chief minister shocked everyone by accusing Sasikala and senior party leaders for “forcing” him to resign as the chief minister.
He said “Amma (Jayalalithaa) asked me to take over party reins when she was in hospital, but I refused politely. Amma’s spirit is ordering me to reveal the truth to the Tamil people.”
Panneerselvam said Jayalalithaa wanted senior leader and presidium chairman of the party, E Madhusudhanan, to be the elected to the post after her.
He said that he tried his best to solve Jallikattu issue by holding talks with the Centre and worked on resolving several issues.
Panneerselvam’s revelations are leading to several doubts of his revolt against Sasikala. A few people are suspecting BJP’s hand behind his step.
