Goa election with 40 Assembly seats and two Lok Sabha seats has become prestigious to Congress and BJP.
RSS State former chief Subash Velingkar, who has a strong hold on Goa, gave a shock to BJP by launching a new organization ‘Goa Suraksha Manch’ (GSM). He is going to canvass against BJP.
Adding to the woes, MGP (Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party) and Shiva Sena also left BJP. Now MGP, GSM and Shiv Sena have formed a new political alliance, which may mar the winning chances of BJP in Goa elections, though it may not win power.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is focusing special attention on both Punjab and Goa elections. He is visiting the State several times and trying to emerge as a strong force.
Meanwhile, internal disputes in Goa congress are continuing. The disputes between former Chief Minister Digambar Kamat and PCC chief Faliro are further increasing. AAP is hoping to benefit from the internal disputes in Congress and anti-BJP wave. Totally Triangular contest in Goa is continuing.
