The survey by Directorate General of Central Exchange Intelligence Survey has revealed shocking news as to what black money holders purchased, where they spent their money and so on after demonetisation declared on November 8. Total 4 Tonnes of Gold Sales in 48 Hours After Nov 8 in the country.
The survey disclosed details of gold sales in the country. More than four tones of gold worth over Rs 1,250 crore was sold within 48 hours, from November 8 to 10. That means 80 kg gold was purchased per hour.
According to the survey, a leading Delhi-based jeweler sold 45 kg of gold to 700 people on November 8. A day before, the jewelers had sold just 820 grams.
Lalita Jewellers in Chennai sold 200 kg of gold. Jaipur’s Laawat Jewellers had sold 30 kg gold but the shop showed records that it sold only one gram gold on November 7.
According to the survey, more than 100 kg gold sales were recorded in Hyderabad.
