Hyderabad, May 17

A bridegroom died when a truck hit a mini-van carrying the marriage party near Suryapet, about 140 kms from Hyderabad, in Suryapet district early Wednesday morning.

The marriage party was going from Kukatpally in Hyderabad to Cherla mandal in Khammam district for the marriage. On their way, they stopped the DCM van near a petrol bunk at Mothe village. A speeding lorry hit the van from behind.


The bridegroom Venkata Seshasai and Damodar died on the spot. Another 10 relatives were seriously injured; of this the condition of three was critical.

Another two accidents took place in Hyderabad. A car created terror near NTR Gardens at Necklace road. A youth in inebriated condition drove the car in high speed and hit the divider. One person was injured in this incident.

In another incident, a car going in wrong route hit another car coming in opposite direction. Five persons, including two women were injured. The person responsible for the accident abandoned the car and escaped from there.
