Hyderabad, January 3
The cab drivers are continuing their strike in Hyderabad and they are stopping the cabs on the road. Their strike reached fourth day on Tuesday.
The passengers are facing severe troubles. The cab drivers stopped Ola and Uber cabs at Malasian Township in Kukatpally and forced the passengers to get down.
The drivers lamented that they purchased new cabs by believing Ola and Uber cab companies’ assurances and they are not even getting Rs 15,000 per month against their earlier income of Rs 60,000 per month.
The drivers warned of continuing their strike since their problems are not solved and requested the drivers of various companies not to run their vehicles till then.
On the other hand, the discussions between the drivers and Ola and Uber Company authorities held on Monday reportedly failed. According to sources, the companies have invited the drivers for second round of discussions.
Meanwhile, RTC Executive Director, Purushottam said that they will run 10 per cent additional buses in the city’s IT corridor, keeping in view the cab strike. Every day 3,500 buses ply in Gachibowli, Madapur, Kondapur, Jubilee Hills, Banjara Hills, Samshabad and other areas and now the RTC will run additional 300 buses.
