Hyderabad, February 2
Telangana State Cabinet is scheduled to meet on February 2 (Thursday) and will focus on welfare and discuss on budget allocations to various departments for 2017-18 fiscal.
The Cabinet will hold talks on the budget allocations to flagship programs with a focus on welfare and development. There will be only revenue and capital expenditures like in last year’s budget. Already the Centre had issued orders to all state government in this regard. Hence there are chances for budgetary discussions as per the Centre’s directions.
Also discussion will be held on hike in SC and ST reservations. Justice Chellappa committee, set up to study in detail about STs social and financial status, submitted its report to the State government. The officials have to collect public opinion on this.
Retired IAS officer Sudhir committee also submitted its report to the government on the financial status of minorities. This also may be discussed in the cabinet.
The cabinet also discusses about the implementation of government’s welfare schemes. Also several other issues like disbursing pension of Rs 1,000 for about two lakh single women from next April, residential schools, filling up of vacant posts in various departments, double bedroom houses, Mission Bhagiratha and other schemes may be tabled for discussion.
