Hyderabad, January 7
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) officials are implementing new plans in New Year to get closer to the public. GHMC is going under a makeover regarding its plans and administration policies. Aiming to put the GHMC in top position in Swachh Sarvekshan ranking, the officials are planning to involve corporate companies.
They are collecting huge funds under corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities. Ramky company gave Rs 2 crores while Kamineni Rs one crore and Andhra Bank gave Rs 25 lakh.
GHMC repaired and bettered the existing toilets in the city and took initiation to set up e-toilets for the first time. State Bank of Hyderabad agreed to construct three e-toilets in the first phase while KIMS accepted to construct two in the part of Swachh Sarvekshan.
To encourage cashless transactions after demonetization, GHMC supplied swiping machines to 19 citizen service centres for tax payment. Plans are afoot to provide swiping machines to 350 bill collectors soon.
