Hyderabad, December 1

GHMC announced cashless transactions from December 1, thus becoming the first cashless corporation in the country. The civic officials are busy in making arrangements to implement Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao’s instructions to launch cashless transactions and through online in the State.

The demonetization has turned a boon to GHMC which amassed revenue of about Rs. 250 crore from November 10 to 24.

GHMC is already collecting property tax and trade license fees through ‘MyGHMC App’ and the same mode of collection will be applied for other payments also.

A special IT team was appointed to implement its decision from December 1. There are more than 350 bill collectors within 30 GHMC circles to collect taxes and fees. Tenders for swiping machines will be invited in December first week to supply them to the bill collectors. These swiping machines will be linked with their dockets.
