Hyderabad, December 21

Actor-turned-politician, Jana Sena Party founder Pawan Kalyan, who has been critical of BJP for going back on the promise of according special category status to Andhra Pradesh, today criticised the demonetisation decision. Kalyan addressed RBI Governor Urjit Patel in his critical tweets on the note ban move, describing it as a ‘farce’.
Demonetisation has disrupted the lives of various sections of society, including tribals, farmers, daily wage labourers, housewives and senior citizens, he said.
Including Balaraju from Kurnool, countless victims have lost their lives after waiting in queue to withdraw money and RBI Governor is responsible for their death, he alleged.

While common people “are dying standing in queues”, those who plundered the wealth of the country are exchanging their wealth (old notes) sitting in their homes, Kalyan said.
Are cashless transactions really possible in a country where manual scavenging still exists? He questioned. He also questioned the Centre whether it knew about the troubles that the poor, women, labourers and petty traders have been facing after note ban.
