The Telangana new academic year will commence from March, 2017. State education ministry issued notices to conduct admissions into Model School before March 10.
Initially, the government suggested commencing classes from the very next day after 2016-17 academic year concludes on March 20. Summer holidays will start from April 23.
The government is all set to start the new academic calendar by completing printing of text books, to fill up seats in Sixth class in Model School and to fill the gaps in 7, 8, 9 and 10 classes before March.
The government announced to commence academic year as per the calendar but due to the delay in text books printing and for other reasons, the new academic calendar could not be implemented last year.
This time the government is determined to commence academic year from March 21. Details of students, text books needed and other issues in government, aided, Kasturba, Gurukul and Adarsh and other schools were already gathered last month.
District education departments submitted State education ministry seeking text books for the students of private schools. The government started printing text books following the indents submitted by private schools managements and will soon distribute the books.
To avoid irregularities in text books distribution, the books will be given serial numbers. These will be distributed to various schools after entering the serial numbers in computer.
The education department will take serious action on the headmasters of the respected schools if these books are found with others other than the students studying in that particular school.
