Hyderabad, January 25
As many as five persons became prey to swine flu in the first month of New Year. 17 people died with swine flu last year. And this year, due to acute cold weather in January, swine flu cases are on the rise.
Another three patients with swine flu symptoms are undergoing treatment in Gandhi Hospital. Their blood samples were sent to the lab and the patients were kept in disaster ward. If their blood reports show positive, then they will be shifted to swine flu ward to give treatment.
Lakshmaiah got admitted in Gandhi Hospital with H1N1 symptoms on Sunday morning and died on the night of same day. Doctors are waiting for lab reports of his blood samples to clarify the disease.
The relatives of the patient are raising objections for the delay in the lab reports even after the patient’s death.
Meanwhile, a 10-month-old boy of Bibinagar is undergoing treatment at Gandhi Hospital for swine flu. Hospital Superintendent Venkateswar Reddy said the child’s condition is critical.
Swine flu spreads very fast through air. Doctors suggest the patients with the symptoms of this disease should immediately go to hospital.
It is reported that swine flu cases are increasing due to lack of preventive measures. The government has no records about the patients taking treatment in private hospitals. Patients with swine flu symptoms are undergoing treatment in NIMS and fever hospital also.
On the other hand, swine flu is spreading in Andhra Pradesh State also. AP Health Minister Kamineni Srinivas said that seven swine flu cases have been registered so far.
