Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao said the 5,200 bank branches presently working in the State are not enough to implement cashless system in the State. It needs one bank for every three to four villages and one ATM for every 1,500 population, he observed.
He said plans are afoot to implement cashless system in all government wings soon and also to make excise, marketing, agricultural, civil supplies, gas bills and other payments through banks.
As many as 10 crore swiping machines are needed to make the country cashless. Mobile app is useful in this regard. KCR said TS wallet will be established for easy money transactions.
KCR discussed at length about various solutions to solve the problems raised after demonetization in the cabinet. He felt the problem could be solved only through cashless system.
