Hyderabad, January 5
There are chances for the TS Assembly session to continue till January 18. Even though Chief Minister Chandrashekar Rao said to continue the session during BAC informally, his word may become a reality. As per the schedule the session should conclude on January 11 but it seems that they may continue till January 18.
Opposition parties demanded the sessions to be held for 20 days when the government announced the schedule for 12 days. The Chief Minister has now made the sessions for 21 days.
The recent situation indicates that the session may even continue for another week. During BAC meeting on December 30, the TS assembly session was fixed till January 11.
It was proposed to hold another BAC in case the session has to be extended. Chief Minister observed that it will be good to discuss each and every scheme implemented by the government.
The ruling party opined that it is best to use assembly session as the right platform to explain all the government schemes to the public. Opposition being positive towards the extension of the session has become an advantage for TRS.
Since discussions are going on that the government will introduce two main bills in the assembly, the government may reportedly extend the session for another week.
Among the two key promises made by the government, the issue of 12 per cent reservations to STs and minorities may come for discussion. This is the main issue which Opposition also lays stress. The committee, constituted on reservation hike is also said to be ready to present its report.
