Hyderabad, November 29
TS government is making arrangements to pay the salaries of November and December months in cash to its employees.
Responding to the government employees’ demand of payment of salary in cash for these two months and in the wake of demonetization, the TS government reportedly took this decision. The finance wing had prepared the report on this and submitted to Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for his permission.
The officials will get the cash from banks and distribute to the staff of their respective departments.
Leaders of private and government employees met TNGOs chief secretary Rajiv Sharma and brought to his notice that if salaries were deposited in banks, it would be difficult for employees to withdraw the cash due to lengthy queues at banks and ATMs. They urged the government to pay Rs 10,000 in cash and deposit the balance in banks.
Already Haryana State government has decided to give salaries in cash. Now the Telangana government also will give Rs. 10,000 in cash to C and D group employees.
To avoid cash crunch in dispensing salaries in cash, the State government requested the Centre to supply small value currency notes worth Rs. 5,000 crores and submitted a report in this regard.
The officials also assured of cash payments of salaries. Now the private employees were also demanding the government to follow the same procedure in their case.
