Hyderabad, October 14
To put a check on private bus services, the Telangana RTC is trying its best to attract the passengers. One of them is by picking up the passengers from their houses.
The RTC already announced of running mini buses in the city after the metro rail starts running. Now the officials are launching ‘Vajra’ A/c buses from Hyderabad. After conducting route survey, these buses would be plied to Warangal via four routes and Nizamabad via three routes.
In order to draw the passengers, 150 boarding points in Hyderabad were identified. Mini buses will pick the passengers at these points. These mini buses could even go into smaller roads.
The RTC would introduce a special ‘app’ to book tickets of Vajra buses online, once these buses start plying. The passengers could book tickets even half-an-hour before the scheduled time if seats are available. The passengers will get a message with the details of bus, seat numbers etc.
The RTC officials were selecting drivers under the age group of 45 years and a special training would be given to them. The charges of the Vajra buses are Rs 300 from Hyderabad to Warangal and Rs 350 from Hyderabad to Nizamabad.
