Hyderabad, January 13. All the villages in both Telugu states came alive with Sankranti festival. Beautiful and colourful rangoli designs in front of every house, haridasu singing bhajns, gangireddulu (adorned bulls) and their masters, aromas of tasty savories lingering in the air are marking the festival.

Special programmes are being arranged in villages in East and West Godavari districts on the occasion. Several games and rangoli competitions were held in Ravulapalem, in which several participated with enthusiasm.

In Rayalaseema region also people are celebrating the festival with fervor. Several cultural programmes, competitions were organized in Kadiri (Anantapuram district), Hindupur, Kurnool districts.

Festival celebrations will never conclude without cock fights and bull races. High Court banned cock fights which were supported by Supreme Court. But still organizers are all set to conduct the fights after making all arrangements and police are also all set to crack the whip against lawbreakers.
