Khammam, February 17

Telangana Minister for Roads and Buildings Tummala Nageswar Rao said that the Centre has released Rs 27.29 crores for construction of 17 bridges to provide better road facilities to remote villages in Khammam and Bhadradri Kothagudem districts. The Telangana government felt the urgent need to construct bridges to provide transport facility to the people of remote villages of these two districts. Proposals seeking Rs 27.85 crores under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana were submitted to the Centre in this regard.

The Centre released Rs 27.29 crore, the Minister informed. Rs 3.12 crore for constructing three bridges in Khammam district and Rs 24.73 crore for constructing 14 bridges in Bhadradri Kothagudem district were allotted.

Gram Sadak Yojana

A high-level bridge on the rivulet near Kamepalli in Khammam district and roads and bridges would be constructed in Repallewada and Mudigonda areas.

In Bhadradri Kothagudem district, Road from Nadupalli of Dammapet mandal to Thottipampu; high-level bridge on Metlavagu in Dumugudem mandal; road from Turubaka to White Nagaram; bridge on Kongaravagu; road to Dharmapuram; bridge on Chinna Gubbala Mangi river; and road to Paidigudem will be constructed.

High-level bridges on Pedda Vagu, Chinna Vagu and Jali Vagu in Gundala mandal; road to Shettipalle, road from Marcodu to Sandibandam; road from Palwancha to Pandurangapuram; from Murreduwagu to Erragudem; from Andugulagudem to Harsing Tanda; from Tadikelapudi to Kokyala Thanda; from R&B road to Bodu Kothagudem; and three high-level bridges in Tekulapalle mandal will be constructed. The Minister said high-level bridge on a rivulet in Illendu and road to Manikyaram will be constructed. Roads will be laid for all villages in this year.
