The demonetization effect is still creating problems in villages and in cities. And the effect is more in villages, landing the farmers into troubles. It became impossible for them to get lower currency notes for higher currency notes of Rs. 2,000 and they do not have cash for investments. They are finding it hard to get cash to buy seeds, fertilizers and to pay wages for labourers.


The farmers also facing cash crunch as there is no cash in ATMs. They are finding ‘no cash’, ‘out of service’ boards at several ATMs due to shortage of cash supply. A few banks are reportedly not accepting cash deposits. The State Bank officials are assuring that cash will be available at ATMs within one or two days.
