Keeping in view the agitations and protests going on in several places for new districts, the Telangana government has not given clarity about the list. The final draft would be released one day before the launching of new districts, it is assumed.
The high power committee has put the proposals for Jangaon, Gadwal, Sircilla and Asifabad districts before the cabinet meeting.
Agitations for separate Mulug district have intensified with some youth trying to immolate themselves, while others attempted suicide by climbing a cell tower.
Except TRS, all other parties staged a rasta roko on Friday demanding formation of Warangal rural district with Narsampet as headquarters. Gundala, Motkur of Nalgonda district are opposing merger of their mandals in Jangaon district.
Relay hunger strike is going on in Station Ghanpur and Jaffarghar mandals opposing the merger in Jangaon district. The police foiled the indefinite hunger strike of Bhadrachalam MLA and CPM leader Sunnam Rajaiah and TDP in-charge K Phaneeswaramma demanding Bhadrachalam district. Demanding to retain Gundala mandal in Yadadri, the villagers are staging protests while all party leaders organized mass cooking on the roads. A few sarpanches resigned from their posts.
