The Telangana government issued notification dividing Warangal into four districts.

There was not much opposition towards Mahabubabad and Acharya Jayashankar Bhupalpalli districts formation but all hell broke loose over the proposal of Hanamkonda district. Reacting quickly the government changed its mind and forming Warangal rural district instead of Hanamkonda.

Warangal to be split into four districts

The Warangal (Urban) district will consist of Bheemadevarapalli, Elkaturthi, Kamalapur mandals of Karimnagar apart from Dharmasagar, Veleru, Hanamkonda, Hasanparthy, Kazipet and Inavolu.

Warangal (Rural) district will comprise Narsampet, Khanapur, Chennaraopet, Duggondi, Nallabelli, Nekkonda, Parakala, Geesukonda, Sangem, Rayaparthi, Wardhannapet, Parvatagiri and Sayampet mandals.

Yielding to the protests from all groups of people, KCR gave green signal for Jangaon district.
